Year-End Giving to Support PACA’s Community Education Events in 2024!

As 2023 draws to a close, we look back on the year with much gratitude to all the cooperatives who have worked with us, those who have facilitated with us, our comrades who hosted us, and to our wider Philadelphia co-op ecosystem. This year we saw:

5 groups moved through our Study Circles program
6 groups took out technical assistance contracts
2 co-ops are participating in our Seed Commons lending program partnership
7 Community of Practice workshops were hosted for co-op curious professionals
3 Solidarity Economy assemblies, bringing together cooperative economic practitioners in Philadelphia, took place in partnership with our member-cooperative Making Worlds Bookstore
Community education events were held on cooperative economics, including a Solidarity Economy book club, and celebrations of cooperation at Life Do Grow Farms and Pentridge Station
and we began a new partnership with the Local Initiatives SC to distribute funds, engage the public, and educate on cooperatives role in economic development in Southwest Philadelphia

This is just a snapshot of what cannot be fully captured in the span of a year. We have big plans for 2024, including the aim to continue and expand our Community Education events. These events include our Solidarity Economy assemblies, which work to include cooperatives as part of how we transition to a just economy, while in a larger vision for how every aspect of our world comes together in solidarity, care, and equity rather than extraction. We also aim to have educational events on different aspects of cooperatives, as well as continue our Community of Practice workshops. All of this takes resources. In order to ensure this programming – we’re asking you, our fellow cooperators and supporters at-large, to make a year-end donation to PACA. This year-end donation will go towards our Community Education events program. We’re working to crowdfund $3,000 by the end of the year.
